In the Community

For 75 years, Reliance Bank has been synonymous with Community Service. From the early days of Ardie Dillen, Bruce Hostler, and Tim Sissler to the current guidance of Denny Doll, the employees have been instilled with the thought that we are indeed employees of Reliance Bank, and that comes with being community servant leaders.

The employees of Reliance Bank have embraced the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. This project consumes over 125 hours of volunteer time each year. Our employees work tirelessly to raise funds for Relay. They do this because they know their part, no matter how big or how small, is supporting such an outstanding event. For 20 years, our support has grown and so has the enthusiasm from the employees and their families. We have raised over $350,000 for Relay for Life in that timeframe, which includes a match of funds by Reliance Bank’s Foundation.

Aside from Relay for Life, Reliance Bank employees have connections with most non-profit organizations in our trade area including the local Chambers of Commerce, Lions Clubs, Operation Our Town, and much more. We provide funding, leadership, and hands-on help to groups throughout our market area on a regular basis.

Shamrock Basket Bingo

Reliance Bank is proud to support the Altoona Area Public Library’s Shamrock Basket Bingo!

The Altoona Area Public Library offers entertaining and educational programs and services for everyone in the community. Besides traditional print books, the AAPL has over 1,700 e-books and e-audio books, which were circulated over 16,400 times over the past year. AAPL also provides off-site preschool programming for 34 classrooms including Head Start and Learning Express, reaching an average of almost 500 kids per week. All of this and more is made possible by fundraisers like Shamrock Basket Bingo!

This year’s Shamrock Basket Bingo will be held at Father Kelley Hall in Altoona. Prizes will feature world-famous Longaberger Baskets and Vera Bradley tote bags.
