Reliance Bank Donates to Joshua House

Reliance Bank proudly donated $10,000 to the Joshua House in Tyrone, PA. Jim Kilmartin founded the Joshua House 20 years ago in 1998. The Joshua House is a community center where kids and teens can learn, grow, and find purpose.

Since 2001, the Joshua House has hosted a local 3-on-3 basketball tournament called HoopsFest, which has grown into the largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament in Central Pennsylvania. To accommodate the growing interest, HoopsFest expanded in 2017 to include two tournaments – one in Tyrone, and one in Altoona.

The Joshua House also organizes the Cross-Town Basketball League, which is available to students in grades 7-12 who do not play on a school basketball team. The league makes playing in an organized basketball league possible for teens of all skill levels. The league provides a safe place for teens to build relationships, stay physically fit, and be positively impacted by dedicated coaches.

In order to support the increasing interest in their various basketball programs, the Joshua House purchased an armory and renovated it into a basketball facility. Reliance Bank, which strongly endorses Joshua House’s goal to motivate and inspire the youth of our community, made its donation in order to defray the costs of the armory renovation. We are excited to see how this expansion will continue to develop the mission of Joshua House in years to come!
