[Altoona, PA – December 3, 2024] – Reliance Bank, a proud advocate for the communities it serves, is excited to announce the donation of one of its properties to Center City Church.  The donation of the building, located at 1119 12th Street, Altoona, PA 16601 provides Center City Church with a vital resource to expand its ministries and serve the community.

The property has served as the bank’s corporate headquarters since 1953, until recently when the bank moved its corporate offices to The Mill at 2424 8th Avenue in Altoona. Phil Freeman, President and CEO of Reliance Bank expressed the bank’s vision for this partnership.

“At Reliance Bank, we believe that helping individuals or organizations pursue their dreams doesn’t stop at financial services. It extends to building relationships and supporting those organizations that make our communities stronger. Center City’s vision to ‘Love, Serve, Repeat’ aligns with our values and we’re excited to see how this space will be used to transform lives and families in the area.”

Jim Kilmartin, Founding and Senior Pastor of Center City Church, stated, “We have appreciated a strong working relationship with Reliance Bank for over 25 years, partnering together to make a positive impact on our communities.”

Mark Mielnik, Jr, Executive Pastor at Center City Church expressed his gratitude for the bank’s donation.

“We are honored to receive this incredible gift from Reliance Bank,” said Mielnik. “The new building will allow the church to expand some of its operations, helping to transform one life, one family, one community at a time.”

The church plans to utilize the space to expand Arrows Christian Academy, currently, a K-8 school focused on equipping the next generation of faith-based entrepreneurial leaders, as well as serve as the headquarters for Joshua House, a place to help youth find purpose, and HoopsFest, Pennsylvania’s largest 3-on-3 outdoor basketball tournament. The church also plans to use some of the space as a business incubator.

“The downtown is coming back to life, and we want to continue to be a blessing to the city as Reliance Bank has done in the downtown area since 1953,” said Mielnik.

Reliance Bank will continue to have a presence downtown with its newest branch located at 1300 11th Avenue.
