Reliance Bank History
1940
The Reliance Building & Loan Association is formed through the merging of six businesses and quickly begins helping young couples become homeowners.
1953
The Reliance Savings Association moves to 1119 12th Ave. in Altoona, where Reliance Bank remains headquartered to this day in a long-standing commitment to the community.
1968-1975
Reliance merges with four more Building & Loan Associations, pooling the resources of like-minded companies for the greater good of the area.
1998
Reliance Savings Bank becomes Reliance Bank, continuing to find new ways to serve the area and its people, many of whom are children and grandchildren of the bank’s first customers.
2000
Reliance introduces business banking services.
2003
Reliance introduces online banking.
2020
A new full-service Martinsburg branch is opened, bringing the total number of branch locations to 8.
2021
Reliance rolls out new logo, marking its commitment to keeping the brand fresh and meeting the everchanging needs of those we serve.
2023
Reliance Bank relocates downtown Altoona branch operations to 11th Avenue, with an updated look and expanded hours.
2024
Reliance Bank relocates corporate headquarters to The Mill, a redeveloped mixed-use center in Altoona.
